Woodcock, timberdoodle, mud snipe, Labrador twister… Whatever you decide to call this abomination of a bird is your business, but I call it Mother Nature’s biggest joke. If you don’t know what I am talking about, you are better off. Come out to Cemex Reserve in search of one of the dumbest displays in the natural world: male bog suckers (what a name) quite literally falling in love.

Do birds annoy you? Do their tiny, beady eyes make you want to commit murder? Okay, maybe that’s a bit extreme, but our naturalist, Courtney, can agree that birds are the worst. But they are also pretty cool? It’s a complicated relationship.
